The Resource Center at Veer Bhagat Singh Vidyalaya comprises of Counsellors and Special Educators. The Resource services are facilitated by the Resource Coordinator.

As children grow and adapt to an ever changing environment, whether it be at home or in the school, they constantly face new challenges. These new challenges may impact them physically, mentally, emotionally or socially. When any of these areas are impacted or the equilibrium in any of these areas is disturbed, it may manifest itself in the form of behaviour issues, emotional disturbance, or learning or academic difficulties in the child.

Counsellors at the Resource Center deal with issues related to behaviours like aggression, defiance, shyness, attention seeking, restlessness, etc. and emotional issues, such as, fears, anger management and difficulty expressing feelings. They also deal with issues related to self-esteem, self-image, goal setting, motivation and stress management. Counsellors administer appropriate Psychological Tests to help in diagnosing the nature of the concern and use their professional expertise and strategies to help the student deal with it.

Special Educators deal with academic difficulties related to learning, grasping, language issues, difficulties with Math, etc. They carry out formal and informal assessments to identify children with Learning Disabilities and plan and implement an Individualized Educational Program for each child.

The Resource Center also conducts certain awareness or preventive programs for students, like student workshops, plans Life Skills Programs for each class, which are conducted by teachers in the classroom. Career Awareness Programs and Vocational Guidance Programs are organized for students of Std IX and X.

The Resource facility can be accessed by students, parents and teachers. Parents can access the services of the Resource by taking an appointment with the Resource Coordinator. The Resource center constantly strives to extend itself to as many students as possible by keeping in stride with the changing needs of students.
